The Cleveland Indians sign Chris Ray
The Indians have signed 30-year old righty reliever Chris Ray to a minor league deal. Ray pitched in 29 games (0 starts) for the Mariners last year and he was 3-2 with a 4.68 ERA and a 1.38 WHIP. He has now pitched in 283 games (0 starts) in his first six years in the majors and he is 18-19 with 51 saves, a 4.10 ERA and a 1.36 WHIP. This was a good signing for the Indians as Ray has a really good arm. He will challenge for a spot in the bullpen this spring.
