The Cleveland Indians sign Chin-lung Hu

The Indians have signed 27-year old SS/2B Chin-lung Hu to a minor league deal.  Hu played in 22 games for the Mets last year and he was only 1 for 20 (.050 avg, .141 OPS) with 2 runs scored, 1 RBI and 1 stolen base.  He also played in 26 games in rookie+AAA-ball last year and he was 15 of 80 (.188 avg, .482 OPS) with 11 runs scored, 2 RBIs and 2 stolen bases.  Hu has now played in 118 games in his first five years in the majors and he is 34 of 193 (.176 avg, .484 OPS) with 27 runs scored, 2 homers, 18 RBIs and 4 stolen bases.  Hu will likely start the 2012 season in AAA-ball for the Cleveland Indians.
