The Cleveland Indians re-sign Argenis Reyes
The Indians have re-signed 29-year old, switch-hitting infielder Argenis Reyes to a minor league deal. Reyes played in 25 games in AAA-ball for the Indians last year and he was 26 for 83 (.313 avg, .791 OPS) with 9 runs scored, 2 homers, 9 RBIs and 1 stolen base. He played in 85 games overall in the minors in AAA+Independent ball and he was 102 of 331 (.308 avg, .772 OPS) with 43 runs scored, 4 homers, 38 RBIs and 13 stolen bases. Reyes last played in the majors in 2009 with the Mets. He has now played in 58 games in his first two years in the majors and he is 26 for 127 (.205 avg, .475 OPS) with 13 runs scored, 1 homer, 3 RBIs and 3 stolen bases. The Indians will likely stash Reyes in AAA when the 2012 season begins.
