Travis Hafner of the Cleveland Indians has shoulder surgery
Travis Hafner has had arthroscopic surgery on his right shoulder and he will have a checkup soon with the dreaded Dr. James Andrews which is usually not a good thing. Hafner played in only 57 games for the Indians last season and he was 39 for 198 (.197 avg, .628 OPS) with 21 runs scored, 5 homers and 24 RBIs. The Indians really need a healthy Hafner in 2009 because of his very potent bat. From 2004-2007, Hafner played in a average of 139.5 games, scored 92.5 runs, hit 31.8 homers, drove in 108.5 runs and he walked 87.3 times per season. Hafner also compiled a .296 average during those four seasons. The Indians need a healthy Travis Hafner and Victor Martinez in 2009 if they want to get back to the playoffs in 2009.
