Jhonny Peralta has been awful this season for the Indians

Jhonny Peralta has to hit well to be an asset for the Indians as he is not that good of a fielder. Peralta has played in 27 games so far this season for the Indians and he is 22 for 102 (.216 avg, .671 OPS) with 15 runs scored, 5 homers and 10 RBIs. The Indians need Peralta to get going with the bat because they don’t have a replacement ready to go.

Peralta has no range at all. He can’t throw out any decent runner and now he can’t hit. He shows no emotion or desire. I would like to see The Indian hitters get a little angry and show some heart when they strike out or hit into a double play which is almost every at bat. There are so many holes in the lineup they will be lucky to finish ahead of KC. I am sick of Wedge and his “laid back” team.

I agree with you danfair. I didn’t like when the Indians gave Peralta a long term contract as I think the money has went to his head. I know that Mark Shapiro is just trying to do what John Hart did before him, but, the difference is that this team is nowhere near as talented as the All-Star teams that Hart was locking up.

The Indians finally showed some emotion last night when Dave Dellucci hit the bomb off Joba Chamberlain. Hopefully the Indians start hitting soon or it could be a lost season.
